Estimating / Pre-Construction

  • Liaise with architects, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing, clarifications and alternative proposals

  • Evaluate tenders, risk assess cost inputs, produce value engineering proposals

  • Prepare cost plans, cash flows and early cost advice

Quantity Surveying / Commercial

  • Monitor contract cost control and project financial performance

  • Administer subcontractor and supplier payments, valuations, change orders and variations

  • Prepare interim and final accounts, cost reports and forecasts

  • Dispute resolution or cost claims support

  • Liaise with project teams to ensure costs are managed and documented

  • Work across a mixture of JCT and NEC contracts

You will be based in Leicester, but you should expect occasional travel across the East Midlands region in support of live projects.

Person Specification / Requirements

  • Qualified (or part-qualified) in Quantity Surveying (e.g. MRICS, RICS QS, CIOB or equivalent)

  • Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in both estimating and quantity surveying within the UK construction industry

  • Strong technical knowledge of measurement, cost control, and contracts (JCT and NEC)

  • Proficiency in estimating software, cost management systems, spreadsheets and commercial reporting

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Ability to work independently, manage workload, meet deadlines and balance dual responsibilities

  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving and commercial acumen

What Our Client Offers

  • Competitive salary: £50000 - £60000

  • Opportunity to shape and balance both estimative and commercial functions

  • Exposure to a variety of project types (public, commercial, residential, social housing, healthcare, etc.)

  • Professional development support

  • Friendly, family-oriented company culture with a progressive mindset and commitment to innovation

  • Based in Leicester, with the chance to influence company growth and success

If you’re a technically strong, commercially minded construction professional with a dual capability in estimating and quantity surveying, we’d love to hear from you.
