Hays is working in partnership with an Ofsted 'Good' Sixth Form College located in Leicester. They are seeking a compassionate, proactive and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of additional learning needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH difficulties.

Your new role:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD and social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
  • Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored interventions.
  • Use creativity, patience, and empathy to help students build confidence and independence.
  • Foster positive relationships and help create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Experience working with children and/or young people with SEN, particularly SEMH, ASD, and ADHD (in an educational setting)
  • Resilience, empathy, and adaptability to meet diverse needs.
  • Able to use initiative and be proactive
  • Strong at building trust and relationships with young people
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
