About the Role
Are you a commercially astute procurement professional ready to make a real impact? Do you have experience within Adult Social Care and are familiar with the new Procurement rules for the public sector?We’re looking for a Commercial & Supplier Relationship Manager to join our dynamic Commissioning Support Unit. In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with the Senior Commercial Specialist, Commissioners, and Contract Managers to drive value, manage risk, and deliver the best outcomes for our communities.
You’ll be responsible for designated procurement categories, applying a rigorous commercial approach to ensure value for money, compliance, and innovation in public service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic category plans to maximise value and efficiency.
Provide commercial insight and challenge to commissioning strategies.
Collaborate with stakeholders to reduce service costs and improve procurement processes.
Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure contract data integrity.
Lead or support supplier relationship management and performance monitoring.
Leverage partnerships with ESPO and other public sector bodies to enhance procurement outcomes.
Support traded services with market intelligence and commercial expertise.
Deliver training and share best practices to build commercial capability across the organisation.
Ensure compliance with Public Contract Regulations and internal procedures.
Deputise for the Senior Commercial Specialist and contribute to team development.
Review and manage purchase requisitions and contract agreements in Oracle.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Degree and/or relevant professional qualification (e.g., MCIPS) or equivalent experience.
Extensive procurement experience in a large, complex organisation.
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and deliver value for money.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations and best practices.
