PLANNING & PURCHASING ADMINISTRATOR – FULL-TIME, PERMANENT – WN7 – up to £29k DOE

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Planning & Purchasing Administrator to join a well-established, growing manufacturing business with a diverse European customer base. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in a supportive and collaborative office environment. You will be joining a current team of 3 within the office, handling various aspects of planning and purchasing.

About the Role:
You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and production planning from order receipt to customer delivery. This role involves close collaboration with various departments, including production, sales, laboratory, and finance. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing incoming sales orders to assess raw material availability
  • Planning production workflows for maximum efficiency and timely delivery
  • Communicating delivery timelines to the sales team
  • Ordering raw materials (UK and Overseas), ensuring correct supplier selection, pricing, and volume requirements
  • Conducting regular stock checks and inventory management to maintain optimal levels
  • Analysing sales forecasts to predict order requirements
  • Investigating discrepancies and updating internal systems accordingly
  • Liaising with suppliers to manage performance, pricing, and volume discussions
  • Providing cover for other administrative areas as needed

What We're Looking For:

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Previous experience in purchasing and planning within a fast-paced manufacturing environment – Essential
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships
  • Good computer literacy, including basic Excel knowledge
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving attitude
  • Team player – willing to support and ‘muck in'
