Are you confident, adaptable, and interested in working with young people in an educational setting?

Tradewind is working in partnership with several welcoming middle schools in Leighton Buzzard who are looking for reliable, enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join their teams. These schools value consistency and are seeking individuals to support with short-term teacher absence across a variety of subjects and year groups (typically Years 5 to 8).

These roles are full-time, starting in September 2025, and are expected to run for the academic year. For the right candidates, there will be potential for temp-to-perm opportunities.

We welcome applications from confident individuals with experience working with children or young people in other sectors, such as sports coaching, youth work, tutoring, or childcare.

All applicants must be local to Leighton Buzzard or willing to commute daily.

The Role:

  • Delivering pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher

  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a focused learning environment

  • Supporting pupils in their learning and answering general questions

  • Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and classroom activity

About You:

  • Experience working with children or young people (ideally in a school, youth or support setting)

  • Calm, confident, and able to manage classroom behaviour effectively

  • Flexible and able to adapt to different subjects and classroom settings

  • A genuine interest in education and supporting young learners

  • Degree or Level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential
