Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with our client a leading contractor specialising in civil engineering within major infrastructure sectors, including nuclear, highways, and large-scale projects. With a strong focus on safety, quality, and sustainability, they are committed to delivering complex engineering solutions that support the UK's infrastructure growth.We are looking to recruit a Site Engineer for its Sizewell C site.

The Site Engineer role is vital for ensuring the successful delivery of this exciting project and comes with a salary up to £37,000 and private health care.

Responsibilities and duties

As a Site Engineer, you will:

  • Accurately set out and maintain control points for construction activities.
  • Communicate setting out details clearly to site operatives.
  • Assist in planning and monitoring project sections.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and trainees.
  • Maintain accurate records, including as-built data and project disruptions.
  • Conduct inspections for structural integrity, drainage, and earthworks.
  • Implement and oversee risk assessments, permits, and COSHH regulations.
  • Monitor and report accidents, ensuring proper protective measures.
  • Maintain records of site works, testing, and approvals.
  • Support coordination with subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives.
  • Assist in developing short-term programs and monitor resource allocation.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Degree (MEng/BEng/Foundation Degree/BTEC) in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 1 year of diverse site experience in civil engineering.
