The Role

You will handle a wide range of family and matrimonial law matters, managing your own caseload and contributing to departmental growth. This role suits a lawyer looking for flexibility and the opportunity to take a lead in high-quality, client-focused work.

Your caseload will include:

  • Divorce and separation

  • Financial proceedings (including complex assets, business interests, and pensions)

  • Private law children disputes

  • Pre- and post-nuptial agreements

  • Cohabitation and separation agreements

Additional involvement may include:

  • Business development and client relationship management

  • Supporting firm-wide marketing initiatives

  • Conducting your own advocacy (where appropriate)

  • Advising agricultural clients or clients with business interests

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent client service and maintain long-term relationships

  • Develop and expand the family law team and service offering

  • Manage your own fee-earning targets and contribute to team goals

  • Maintain awareness of legal developments and commercial trends in family law

  • Work within compliance, risk and financial protocols (e.g., AML, billing, time recording)

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with significant experience in family law

  • Proven ability to manage a full family caseload with minimal supervision

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills

  • Understanding of Money Laundering Regulations and Solicitors’ Accounts Rules

  • Confident with case management systems and Microsoft Office

Desirable:

  • Experience with clients in agriculture or those with business interests

  • Mediation/collaborative law experience

  • Public speaking and/or seminar delivery experience

  • Previous involvement in marketing or networking events

  • Experience conducting own advocacy in family courts

Details:
  • Location: Flexible across offices in Lincolnshire and the Midlands

  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:15pm (36.25 hours/week)

  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
