We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our manufacturing team. This key role will be responsible for the daily management of inventory for our service business lines, ensuring material availability while minimising inventory stock value, currently standing at £45 million. This position will replace an existing team member, with comprehensive handover and training provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily inventory for service operations, including spares, long-term programs (LTPs), modifications, upgrades, and overhauls (both new and repair parts).
  • Oversee inventory across the Teal Park site, managing SGT overhauls, commercial, and regional demands, with a total inventory value of £135 million.
  • Maintain and update Material Master Data for over 21,000 active parts, ensuring real-time availability and accurate inventory records.
  • Act as the key liaison between departments such as Sales, Projects, Engineering, Design, Quality, Production, Purchasing, Business Administration, and Logistics.
  • Lead material forecasting activities to optimise inventory levels, aligning with customer and production demands.
  • Monitor and manage slow-moving inventory, collaborating with teams to reduce obsolescence and excess stock.
  • Support the introduction and enhancement of new inventory systems to improve process efficiency.
  • Supervise and mentor one inventory team member, overseeing daily tasks and performance.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting to director-level stakeholders in both the UK and Germany.

Experience and additional information

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment with a strong focus on inventory control.
  • High proficiency in data analysis, record keeping, and inventory planning.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with ERP/inventory systems and material forecasting tools.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • One-stage interview via Microsoft Teams. Immediate availability for interviews.
  • Hybrid working arrangement (3 days on-site at Teal Park, 2 days remote).
