Our client is currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our production division. Reporting to the Mechanical Production Supervisor, you will work as part of a skilled workshop team to build and assemble first-class robotic equipment.

Contract: Temporary - 3 months

Salary: 16 - 17 per hour

Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, day shift)

We are looking for a capable individual to handle both machining and assembly tasks. Your main duties will include:

  • Machining & Assembly: Safely and accurately using manual Mills and Lathes to make components , and building/assembling robotic equipment.

  • Technical Accuracy: Accurately working to Mechanical Drawings when assembling components and inspecting incoming mechanical parts against those drawings.

  • Project Execution: Planning the steps required ahead of a job to achieve the required outcome , and writing up checklists to ensure all project aspects are completed.

  • Maintenance & Upgrades: Producing, repairing, and upgrading mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.

  • Collaboration: Working in conjunction with R&D on projects through to successful completion and liaising with the Mechanical Design section as required.




Additional Duties

The role is dynamic and may require you to:

  • Assist in assembling, packing, and general loading and unloading.

  • Operate a Forklift when needed.

  • Perform laser engraving and spray painting tasks.

  • Occasionally work offsite to assist in assembly and training.




The ideal candidate will have:

  • Technical Understanding: Must have an understanding of the production process in relation to the products being made.

  • Autonomy: Ability to work with minimal supervision to complete tasks within given deadlines.

  • Specialised Skills: Experience in special parts manufacture is required.
