Description
We're hiring a Senior Transactional Manager to lead one of the most critical finance functions in a large and successful business based in Liverpool.
This is a senior leadership role, reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, with full accountability for overseeing all supplier payments and financial transactions across the business - covering their core operations and wider Group companies.
You'll lead a team of 18 across accounts payable, receivable, and other key finance processing areas - ensuring accuracy, control and efficiency at scale. This role is both operationally important and strategically influential, with the opportunity to shape how transactional finance runs today and into the future.
What you'll be doing:- Own the full accounts processing function - including AP, AR, GNFR, imports and intercompany transactions, across multiple group entities
- Lead supplier payment operations - delivering efficient and compliant processing for domestic and international suppliers
- Drive reporting and insight - providing timely performance updates and recommendations to Buyers, Treasury and the Group FD
- Champion process improvement - streamline, consolidate and optimise workflows to reduce manual effort and drive efficiency
- Lead ERP transformation - play a key role in the rollout of a new finance system, influencing accounting policies and operational design
- Develop a high-performing team - lead, coach and structure a team of 18, ensuring resource alignment and strong performance
- Ensure governance and compliance - uphold rigorous controls and maintain readiness for audit and regulatory scrutiny
Profile
You'll be a Senior Transactional Manager with senior leadership experience in high-volume transactional finance, ideally within a complex, fast-paced environment. You'll bring a track record of driving operational excellence across AP, AR and shared services, and be confident leading large teams through change and transformation.
