Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Apprenticeship Assessor to deliver and assess apprenticeship programmes in Adult Care (Levels 2, 3 & 5) and Children and Young People’s Services (Levels 4 & 5). The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and training, committed to supporting learner development, and possess strong knowledge and experience in health and social care. This is a field-based role that requires travel to learner workplaces and regular remote engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to apprentices in Adult Care and Children and Young People’s Services.
  • Support and guide learners through their apprenticeship journey, including functional skills if required.
  • Use e-portfolio systems to track learner progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct observations and professional discussions in the workplace and remotely.
  • Prepare apprentices for End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Liaise with employers to monitor learner progress and ensure workplace relevance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant standards, policies, and best practices in education and care.
  • Ensure compliance with awarding bodies, funding rules, and safeguarding procedures.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Assessor qualification: TAQA, CAVA, D32/D33, or A1.
  • Occupational competency in Adult Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services at Levels 3 and above.
  • Recognised qualification in Health & Social Care (minimum Level 3, preferably Level 5).
  • Experience delivering apprenticeship standards in:
    • Adult Care Worker Level 2
    • Lead Adult Care Worker Level 3
    • Leader in Adult Care Level 5
    • Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Level 4
    • Children, Young People and Families Manager Level 5
  • Good working knowledge of current apprenticeship standards and End Point Assessment processes.
  • Functional Skills English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent (and ability to deliver if required).
  • Proficiency in using e-portfolios and digital learning platforms.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a caseload of learners.

Additional Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential for travel to learner sites).
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and learner-centered education.

Desirable:

  • Teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET, or equivalent).
  • Experience with remote delivery and online learning tools.
