We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Housing Support Worker on a temp to perm basis in Liverpool, where you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality housing support services to vulnerable males facing homelessness, promoting positive lifestyle choices and encouraging independent living.

You'll be taking part in a 3-week rolling rota, working 1 in every 3 weekends. Weekday shifts will either be 7am to 3pm or 1pm to 9pm; weekend shifts will be 8am to 8pm.

Your new role

  • Facilitating client meetings to complete, review or update individual support plans, ensuring individual goals are being worked towards, benefits are maximised, and personal payments are made as part of a budget plan
  • Signposting and referring to external support services where specific needs cannot be met through in-house provision
  • Completing and reviewing individual risk assessments using a person-centred and trauma-sensitive approach
  • Working with colleagues to design and deliver a wide-range of in-house support services to achieve successful outcomes for clients
  • Encouraging positive and healthy lifestyle choices to move on from the service and sustain a tenancy independently
  • Working in a multi-agency environment, liaising with various external agencies and stakeholders, such as Local Authority housing teams, Benefits offices, Drug & Alcohol teams, Mental Health community teams, GPs, nurses and Police.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience working within a supported housing service and supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs/backgrounds (homelessness, drug/alcohol misuse, mental health)
  • A good understanding of housing management legislation and best practice
  • A good understanding of the welfare benefits system and housing options
  • Experience of completing risk assessments & support planning within a supported housing environment
  • Enhanced DBS (Update service would be ideal but can be carried out upon shortlisting)
