We have an exciting opportunity for a committed and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Court of Protection Officer. This is a rewarding role, supporting some of the most vulnerable adults in our community by managing their financial and property affairs on their behalf.

Location: Cunard Building Water Street Pier Head Liverpool L2 2BSHours: 35 hours per weekStart date: As soon as possiblePay: £19.00 per hour umbrella

To be responsible for a caseload, managing the property and finances of vulnerable adults for whom Liverpool City Council is appointed as Deputy or Appointee by the Court of Protection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Protect the property and financial affairs of vulnerable adults subject to Court of Protection orders.
  • Act under the delegated authority of the Court Appointed Deputy to enforce Court Orders on behalf of the Court, Liverpool City Council, and the client.
  • Ensure compliance with the Mental Capacity Act (2005), Office of the Public Guardian Deputy Standards, and the Directions of the Court Order.
  • Liaise effectively with the Court, Social Workers, council staff, HMRC, DWP, financial institutions, and other relevant bodies on behalf of clients.
  • Represent the Court of Protection at meetings involving individual clients and their families where required.
  • Provide advice and guidance to Social Workers and family members on procedures following the death of a client, including funeral arrangements and estate matters.

Requirements:

  • Experience of managing property and financial affairs in a public sector, legal, or financial services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and Court of Protection processes.
