Are you an Inspirational SEN Teacher?

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Design Technology/Food Technology teacher in a School in Knowsley. The role is to start in September 2025 (There may be the availability of trial shifts before the end on the School Year) and will be a long term placement for the right individual.

Successful candidates will be supported by an outstanding and passionate team and will have the chance to work alongside some amazing teachers who put children at the very heart of everything they do.

This role is perfect for a teacher at any stage in their career, as it allows you to combine the flexibility of day to day working with the reward of inspiring young students.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to teach Design Technology/Food Technology up to KS4 / GCSE Level with bonus points for those with an engineering interest!

• Plan, prepare and teach appropriate lessons within your specialist subject area enabling all student abilities to access the curriculum

• Support colleagues within your department as required

• Organise your classroom to create a positive teaching environment, liaising with relevant teaching assistants and support staff to develop effective working relationships with pupils and colleagues

• Maintain discipline through employing various classroom management techniques in line with the school's behaviour management policy

• Monitor pupil's progress and keep records on their development

• Attend meetings, parent's evenings and in-service training days as required by the school, helping them in all areas to the best of your ability

Requirements

• Relevant Undergraduate Degree

• Hold a qualification with, or leading to UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). NQTs and overseas qualified teachers are welcome to apply

• Be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and full referencing process

• Be passionate about teaching your subject

• Have excellent communication skills

• Possess the motivation to achieve and add value to a school

• Have proven classroom management skills
