As the Yard Person you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and tidy depot in accordance with health and safety requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Taking delivery of new stock, checking all delivery notes and reporting any discrepancies.
- Monitoring all vehicles, ensuring they comply with depot site safety and driving rules and escalating non-conformity when appropriate.
- Assisting with stock taking activities.
- The role is a dual role, and requires the acceptance and checking of materials, plant and equipment along with the delivery of materials, plant and equipment to site, and other project sites in the area when required.
Experience/Skills/Knowledge/Personal Attributes
- Previous relevant experience working in a similar environment and a full driving license are both essential as is an awareness of health, safety and environmental legislation. Confidence with systems along with good communication, organisational and planning skills are important and a forklift license would be desireable.
Please note that this is physically demanding role. A full UK driving licence is essential.
