Financial Controller | Fast Growth Sustainability Consultancy

Harmonic are delighted to be partnering with a fast growth Independent Sustainability Consultancy, supporting with their search for a Financial Controller to join their rapidly growing team out of their Central London offices.

With a turnover around £5mill, a 50-person headcount, the business is planning to heavily invest in finance over the next 1-2 years as they look to expand to a further international location over the next 18-24 months.

They will consider candidates who are looking for either a 5-day week or 4-day week.

(4 days p/week will be a prorated salary).

They are market leaders in terms of the investment in personal wellbeing for their employers, reflected by the work that they produce, their culture, and how they look after their team. They are looking for candidates with strong commercial ambition to join as FC/HoF and grow into the Finance Director over the next 2-4 years. They have a fantastic office space in central London so for those who choose to spend more time in the office, there is consistently a buzzing atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic financial insight at a board level and assist in commercial decisions.
  • Manage financial systems, policies, and processes for internal financial planning, reporting

and analysis

  • Work closely with client teams and senior management to prepare financial budgets and

forecasts

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, that are suitably drafted for non-financial personnel to identify trends and future steps
  • Prepare month end accounts and ensure all statutory submissions are made accurately and on time
  • Provide financial input to monthly/quarterly reporting packs which are provided to clients
  • Work with the management team to ensure that key strategic decisions and business strategy are informed by a clear understanding of the financial implications
  • Oversee AP/AR processes in conjunction with client teams to assist in generating strong cashflows
  • Involvement in ad hoc financial projects

What We Need to See (Essential Skills):

  • Professional services experience (SME consultancy preferred)
  • Qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
  • Engaging and excellent communication skills
  • Sense of humour / positive approach to work and problem solving

What We Would Like to See (Bonus Skills):

  • Experience in both group agency and SME
  • Understanding of group principles & audit

Salary: £70,000-£80,000

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Central London / Remote
