About the Role

Lewisham Council is seeking a skilled Financial Transaction Officer to support a temporary peak in workload within the Financial Services team. You will be responsible for delivering efficient, customer-focused financial transaction services including high-volume payment and income processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process invoice and payment request transactions in a timely and accurate manner

  • Make and receive payments to/from a wide range of stakeholders

  • Maintain accurate records and carry out regular reconciliations

  • Work with systems such as Oracle Financials/Payables and ContrOCC (Liquid Logic) (experience desirable but not essential)

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure compliance

  • Uphold financial regulations, audit standards, and confidentiality of sensitive data

What We're Looking For
  • Experience in financial processing in a large organisation, ideally local government

  • Strong IT skills and the ability to learn new financial systems quickly

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and financial standards
