My client, an industry leading investment consultant with offices around the globe, provides advisory services to investors, including institutional investors, financial intermediaries and family offices, on over $700 billion of alternative investments across the liquidity spectrum. They specialize in Private Equity, Real Assets, Real Estate and Dynamic Beta.?
The Role:
You will assess operational processes, identify risks, and recommend mitigating procedures. Your analysis will be presented in written research reports accessible to our clients. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of our business ODD services and future initiatives. As you grow within the company, there will be opportunities for advancement and extensive learning about the alternative investment industry. Please note, this role does not involve KYC/AML due diligence.
Responsibilities:- Evaluate alternative investment funds and managers across all asset classes.
- Produce detailed written reports analyzing operational risk and internal controls.
- Monitor assigned funds and update reports to reflect changes in operational risk.
- Lead onsite interviews with alternative investment firms to discuss operational risks and controls.
- Review and interpret financial statements, offering documents, and other fund literature.
- Conduct reference checks with service providers for report completion.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and concise reports in line with client and management deadlines.
- Liaise with clients and fund managers regarding ODD inquiries.
- Develop and champion best practices in the alternative investment industry for ODD.
- Stay current on industry standards and trends to facilitate knowledge transfer within the ODD group, the company, clients, and the industry.
- Mentor Associate Analysts in the ODD process.
- Support business development activities and client interactions.
- Participate in project work to support the due diligence process and broader company initiatives.
- Act as an ambassador for the company at industry events.
- Collaborate with colleagues across teams and regions.
- Contribute ideas to the client newsletter and internal intranet.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in the alternative investment industry (e.g., operational due diligence, fund auditor, fund accountant, or operational experience).
- Strong academic background (degree or equivalent qualification).
- Possession of or interest in obtaining a professional qualification (e.g., CAIA, CFA, ACA).
- High level of writing proficiency and experience in report writing.
- Proactive self-starter with proficient time management and multi-tasking skills.
