  • The role includes producing quarterly management accounts, maintaining month-end accounting procedures, and overseeing payroll for the UK, Republic of Ireland, and Malta.
  • The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and offers a competitive salary.
  • This is a hybrid role, allowing for 2 days of work from home and 3 days in the office.

Our client has a superb opportunity to for a qualified financial accountant to join this fantastic organisation, who has strong experience in group consolidation, technical financial accounting and reporting. Ideally for those who come from an insurance or banking background or equivalent.

You will be required to:

  1. Produce quarterly management accounts for the Director of Resources, Boards of Directors, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive.
  2. Maintaining month-end accounting procedures such as cashbook/bank account reconciliation for Head Office and consolidation of group UK and Malta accounts.
  3. Assist with the production of the Group UK and Malta annual budgets.
  4. Complete the quarterly benefit reports for the Group Chief Executive and Managing Director.
  5. Ensure the monthly payroll is completed for the UK, Republic of Ireland and Malta. Ensure the maintenance of records as required including year-end procedures as appropriate in the UK, Republic of Ireland TCB and Malta.
  6. Ensure the efficient administration of Staff Premium payments.
  7. Ensure and organising the payroll system and maintain records as required including year-end procedures, P11Ds and staff benefit statements.
  8. Administering the staff and director pension payments.
  9. Prepare the quarterly Personal Accident Underwriting and Insurance Premium Tax returns.
  10. Assist the Director of Resources in the preparation and production of the annual financial statements.
  11. Liaise with the Investment fund managers for the HSF health plan, Republic of Ireland TCB, Malta and investment portfolios.
  12. Maintain the banking and cash procedures, liaising with the company’s banks in UK, Republic of Ireland and Malta.
  13. Assist the Director of Resources to produce the annual regulatory and Solvency Returns.
  14. Effectively oversee the Finance Supervisor/Coordinator to ensure the group reconciliation process in the UK is maintain at a satisfactory level of accuracy within the Policyholder system.
  15. Assist with maintaining the Accounts filing systems.
  16. Provide administration support to the Director of Resources
  17. Preparing the quarterly Investment journals.
  18. Provide financial oversight and support to the Sales & Marketing Department as required.
  19. In conjunction with the Head of Compliance act as a main point of contact between the company and the Insurance Brokers with regard to claims and enquiries and to take part in the annual consultation when appropriate business insurance cover is arranged.

People responsibilities

  • Coach, effectively oversee and motivate the finance team to ensure they provide attentive, efficient service to customers and assess employee performance and provide feedback to the Director of Resources and recommend training opportunities.
  • Resolving conflicts or complaints from customers and employees.

Knowledge and skills

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA part qualified, qualified by experience or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong experience in group consolidation, technical financial accounting, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, meeting tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Confident, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to explain financial results clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Excellent prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Experience with financial systems.
