Senior Financial Accountant -Intercompany | £55,000-£65,000 + bonus | Media business (TV & Film) | Manchester (2 days in the office) | Permanent role

A Senior Financial Accountant (intercompany) is required to work for a leading Media business based in Manchester (hybrid working, 2 days per week in the office). This is a newly created role and will be a key member of the newly restructured team within this well-known TV & Film business.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead the IntercompanyAccounting function across multiple entities and the wider business. Initially, a sole role with the opportunity to grow/mould a team as the function evolves. As the Intercompany Lead your main priority will be to streamline intercompany processes and implement standardised practices across the group.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and deliver timely, accurate intercompany accounting activities and month-end/year-end close processes.
  • Ensure accounting processes are consistent, documented, compliant, and automated.
  • Produce accurate accounting entries with full supporting documentation in line with accounting standards.
  • Contribute to system upgrades and testing activities.
  • Promote a digital-first mindset and identify opportunities to standardise and automate processes.
  • Support external audit processes by providing required documentation and insights.
  • Collaborate with other teams to resolve discrepancies and drive continuous improvement.
  • Prioritise workloads effectively and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Oversee training and development of team members, supporting a culture of feedback and growth.
  • Lead and motivate the team through regular performance reviews and one-to-ones.
  • Actively contribute to team meetings and support broader team initiatives.
  • Support senior leadership and undertake other duties as required.

The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience with strong experience in intercompany accounting within a larger, more complex business environment. You will have a proven track record of implementing new processes and driving change. Previous team management experience would be beneficial but is not essential. You will be confident working with multiple stakeholders and have the ability to challenge and influence effectively.
