A specialty (re)insurer operating in the Lloyd's market that has shown significant year on year growth has an opportunity for an experienced Syndicate Financial Controller to join the expanding team.
The position is responsible for leading and developing the Syndicate finance team, ensuring the efficient preparation of monthly financial information such as Board and Exec reporting, participation in the planning process, all necessary financial controls and ownership of the general ledger. The role will manage the Syndicate Finance Managers and oversee the delivery of all regulatory and statutory returns and reporting to Lloyd's.
- Ensure the financial integrity of all of the Syndicate's GL, accounts and reporting.
- Ensure proper financial controls are implemented and properly executed and ensure support to the external and internal audit teams.
- Manage the production of monthly and quarterly financial MI (including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow, Investment Reporting etc) in accordance with established timetables.
- Provide data in prescribed formats for the Group Finance team to collate monthly, annual, and ad hoc requests from Group.
- Work with the Syndicate Finance Manager to ensure the timely and accurate production of all necessary regulatory and statutory returns and Lloyd's and Regulator reports.
- Provide support to Group Reporting Team in statutory accounts preparation.
- Manage and improve the core business processes and automate reporting streamlining the end-to-end processes where appropriate.
- Assist with development of Finance Systems liaising with the Finance Systems team to ensure that all future improvements are managed and tested as appropriate.
- Complete regular performance reviews and maintain development/training plans for each Team member.
