Senior Bookkeeper - accountancy firm Central London £32,000 - £45,000 Butler Rose Public Practice are delighted to be supporting our client, a well-established mid-sized accountancy practice based in Central London that are now recruiting for a Senior Bookkeeper. This is a hands-on role, which will require the individual to work both under their own initiative and as part of a team. The role primarily focuses on bookkeeping, VAT, and management accounting. There will also be an element of year-end accounting assignments when required for numerous clients. Role Requirements -

  • Principally using QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage Line 50 as well as exposure to working on other client software packages on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Bank, cash, payroll, sales & purchase ledger input & reconciliations.
  • Preparation & filing of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Preparation of periodic management accounts for clients as requested.
  • Preparation of monthly trial balances, cash flow statements, and other specific client reporting requirements.
  • Involvement in the preparation of annual financial statements to trial balance stage, including computing accruals, prepayments, depreciation etc.
  • Capable of working on numerous clients' affairs, adhering to client and statutory deadlines.
  • Assisting in the preparation of year-end financial statements for both companies and unincorporated businesses.
  • Able to work under own initiative and unsupervised in our offices or at client's premises.
  • Liaising with clients on a regular and timely basis to obtain their books and records.
  • Dealing directly with clients to resolve and provide assistance with any queries, discrepancies, and other issues on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Provision of support to the other members of the team as well as other departments in the firm.

Person Requirements -

  • AAT qualified with at least 4 years practical experience working as a Bookkeeper/management accountant for a UK based accounting firm.
  • Strong exposure to daily bookkeeping, preparation of management accounts and VAT.
  • Highly proficient in the use of QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage 50.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
