Our client is seeking a temporary, part-time Finance Administrator to join their friendly team in Croydon! The role requires the ability to work with high levels of integrity, discretion and confidentiality. This inclusive environment is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team and to develop financial software skills.

Overview:

  • Start date: Monday 2nd June 2025
  • Duration: Temporary- Summer School Term
  • Working days: Monday, Wednesday & a third flexible day
  • Hours: 8:30am- 4:30pm
  • £15 - £15.50 per hour plus holiday pay accrual
  • Site location: Croydon (Close to the station & On-site parking)
  • Enhanced DBS is required

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the financial accounts, ensuring they are accurate and up to date. This involves processing financial transactions, including payments, receipts and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with the preparation and monitoring of budgets alongside the financial advisor.
  • Process VAT returns and ensure funds are received.
  • Ensure that all staff pay is processed correctly and on time.
  • Keep records of staff salaries, benefits and deductions, including monthly timesheets and absence returns. Ensure updates are provided regularly to the appropriate advisor.
  • Process contractual details for new starters and amendments, including contracts and letters.
  • Provide general administration duties; operating the switchboard, liaising with relevant staff and visitors, completing standard forms and filing important documents.
  • Ensure the necessary documents and security DBS checks are up to date for staff and visitors.
  • Oversee the process of ordering supplies, services, and equipment while maintaining accurate invoices and payments.

Key Skills

  • Knowledge of financial software and systems (e.g. SIMS and FMS).
  • Previous experience in a finance-related role, preferably within the education sector.
  • Experience of working in a busy client-facing office environment handling a varied in-tray.
  • Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
