An established London auction house is seeking a Specialist in Islamic and Indian Art to revitalise and lead this important category. The successful candidate will curate up to three specialist or thematic sales per year, sourcing, valuing, cataloguing and marketing works spanning manuscripts, paintings, textiles, ceramics, metalwork, arms and armour, and related objects from across the Islamic and Indian worlds.

This role suits someone with strong academic grounding and proven commercial experience in the field, ideally gained within an auction or gallery environment. They will have excellent knowledge of the market, the ability to build relationships with collectors and dealers, and strong writing and presentation skills. Fluency in a relevant language such as Persian or Arabic is advantageous.

The position offers the chance to shape a department within a growing, mid-market London auction house known for its specialist sales and collaborative culture. It is available on a full-time or part-time basis, based in London.
