Job Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Memberships Sales BDM to drive corporate membership sales and engagement. The role involves selling and growing the membership base, developing strong relationships with business leaders, and ensuring members receive maximum value.

Key Responsibilities

1. Membership Sales & Business Development

  • In close partnership with the programme team, develop and execute a sales strategy to drive new corporate memberships at £7500 per annum.
  • Identify and engage C-suite executives, investors, and key decision-makers to promote the benefits of membership.
  • Own the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting to closing deals.
  • Meet and exceed monthly and annual membership revenue targets.

2. Relationship Management & Member Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new and existing members.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with high-level stakeholders, ensuring members receive full value from their membership.
  • Oversee onboarding and engagement plans to enhance retention and satisfaction.
  • Track and report on membership engagement, renewals, and feedback.

3. Event & Networking Opportunities

  • Promote flagship events, including:
  • Facilitate networking opportunities through curated introductions.
  • Work with the events team to integrate corporate members into key discussions and panels.

4. Media & Brand Positioning for Members

  • Offer members exposure through featured articles in the newsletter and bespoke thought leadership content.
  • Coordinate exclusive interviews with CEOs and founders for media promotion.
  • Leverage the global platforms to enhance member visibility.

5. Strategic Partnerships & Growth Initiatives

  • Identify and develop strategic alliances to expand membership reach.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance membership value propositions.
  • Provide market insights and recommendations to shape future membership offerings.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • New Membership Acquisition: Achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Membership Retention Rate: Maintain a high percentage of annual renewals.
  • Event Participation: Ensure active member involvement in events.
  • Revenue Growth: Drive membership sales to contribute to overall growth.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strengthen relationships with industry leaders and decision-makers.

Skills & Experience Required

1. Sales & Business Development Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate sales, membership acquisition, or business development, in a high-value membership sales environment.
  • Proven track record in selling premium memberships, partnerships, or sponsorships.
  • Strong negotiation, pitching, and deal-closing skills.

2. Relationship Management & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Experience engaging with senior business leaders, policymakers, and investors.
  • Ability to cultivate long-term relationships and ensure high member retention.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage a diverse network.

3. Event & Marketing Knowledge

  • Understanding of corporate events, networking, and B2B engagement strategies.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing, lead generation, and CRM tools.
  • Ability to leverage media and PR to enhance membership appeal.

4. Strategic & Commercial Acumen

  • Understanding of UK-Asia trade relations (ideal but not compulsory), emerging technologies, and business ecosystems.
  • Data-driven approach to tracking membership performance and refining sales strategies.
  • Strong commercial mindset with a focus on revenue growth.
