PURPOSE OF ROLE

Our client is seeking a Commercial Account Executive to join their growing commercial team. This role offers the chance to manage a diverse portfolio of clients, deliver exceptional service, and play a key role in business growth. It's ideal for someone who thrives in a client-facing role and enjoys developing long-term relationships. You will be supporting the Directors of the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand client businesses and develop tailored insurance solutions
  • Respond to client queries with professionalism and expertise
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for new business
  • Research the market to provide informed recommendations
  • Analyse claims and insurer data, reporting insights to leadership
  • Drive client retention through proactive service
  • Collaborate with colleagues and directors to achieve shared goals
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and FCA regulations
  • Manage renewals, mid-term changes, and new placements accurately
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Attend client meetings, industry events, and webinars 

DAY-TO-DAY

  • Consult with clients to understand needs and provide solutions
  • Negotiate with insurers to secure competitive terms
  • Prepare compliant policy documents with accuracy
  • Monitor market conditions and competitor activity
  • Work with colleagues to balance workloads
  • Provide a proactive, professional client experience 

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven background in insurance or financial services
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products
  • Experience managing client relationships and securing new business
  • Familiarity with FCA regulations and compliance 

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building ability
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Collaborative approach
  • Confidence using IT systems
  • Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage workloads effectively. CII qualifications (achieved or in progress) are advantageous
