Corporate Services Manager / Company Secretary
South London, Hybrid, FTC, ÂŁ52,670 pa
We are looking for a great HR/Governance professional who thrives on variety and a challenge. You will lead HR services, manage office facilities and support our board governance work, as well as comms. Our client is registered with the Regulator of Social Housing, they offer homes and support across south London to a wide client group including predominantly black and ethnic minority communities. They work in 8 London boroughs and provide general needs housing for families and other households, as well as supported housing schemes for young mothers and other young people. They also provide a small number of homes for shared ownership, floating support to young people in the community, and a nursery which provides good quality child care for babies and young children. Â
The Corporate Services Manager supports the Director of Finance & Resources and Deputy CEO, the Board and the Senior Management Team to deliver effective governance, HR and Corporate Services, embed a risk culture and ensure compliance as well as strengthen the Association’s internal control functions.
A full JD is available and for the FTC the priorities are:
HR – Employee relations, Training, any recruitment, etc We have IIP re-accreditation coming up in next 5months, Appraisal coordination, Training plan,
Payroll – working with outsourced provider (plus internal liaison and support)
Company Secretarial – mainly liaison and Board minutes (Exec assistant does committee minutes)
To be successful in the role you will need:
• CIPD qualification or working towards same with a commitment to CPD
• Education to degree level or equivalent through relevant training and experience
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification
• Experience of providing Human Resources support to management and employees, including organisational change, terms and conditions, policies and procedures
• A sound grasp of corporate governance issues and secretarial practice
• Good understanding of regulatory environment and legal requirements of the social housing sector
• Excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders
• Experience of preparing and presenting reports to Senior Management and Board
• Proficient in Board report writing and minute taking
You will be joining the team at an exciting time of growth and will be responsible for delivering an excellent responsive customer orientated service to residents, tenants, other service users and stakeholders. This is hybrid working with 2 days in the office and 3 from home and is a great opportunity to broaden skills within a small specialist organisation.
