Are you ready to take the wheel in managing highway assets? Our client is seeking a dedicated Road Manager to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of their highway systems. Based in the vibrant area of Poplar in London, you will play a crucial role in delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for complex highway schemes.
Role Type: Permanent
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000
Location: East London
�? What You'll Do:
- Management & Monitoring: Oversee all highways operations and maintenance activities in compliance with the DBFO contract.
- Team Leadership: Support and develop the Road team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with local authorities, contractors, and consultants to ensure timely and budget-friendly project delivery.
- Compliance Assurance: Monitor compliance with industry standards and health & safety regulations.
- Budget Management: Establish budget forecasts and track expenditures while liaising with the Commercial team.
??? Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of highways and maintenance activities.
- Ensure all works are monitored effectively, including third-party works from utilities.
- Develop processes to encourage a culture of safety, including record-keeping of incidents and near misses.
- Provide regular updates to the Operations Manager on ongoing works and incidents.
- Lead the Winter Maintenance rota and ensure street cleaning programmes are delivered efficiently.
?? What You Bring:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field or equivalent, or relevant Level 6 equivalent
- Experience in highways asset management and project management.
- Strong budget and cost management skills.
- Excellent communication and people management abilities.
- A proactive approach to identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
