The RoleAs the IT Manager, you'll take ownership of the organisation's IT systems (excluding Salesforce), supporting day-to-day operations while leading essential technology projects.You'll play a key role in managing a major SharePoint migration project, ensuring smooth transitions, enhancing how staff collaborate, and helping optimise their digital tools for the future.This is a mix of hands-on technical support, project leadership, and strategic planning - ideal for someone who enjoys making a real difference with technology.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing first-line IT support and training to staff
- Managing IT infrastructure and Microsoft365 environments
- LeadingSharePoint migration projects, including:
- Planning and executing the move from on-premises servers to SharePoint Online with minimal disruption
- Preserving and managing metadata and tagging structures for compliance and content discoverability
- Migrating and implementing term stores, content types, and managed metadata fields
- Collaborating with stakeholders to define metadata requirements and optimise the user experience
- Using migration tools such as ShareGate, Metalogix, or AvePoint for analysis, mapping, and data transfer
- Conducting post-migration checks to ensure metadata integrity and search functionality
- Working with external IT suppliers to ensure high-quality support and services
- Maintaining security standards, including GDPR and Cyber Essentials compliance
- Supporting broader tech innovation and continuous improvement across the organisation

- 3+ years of IT management experience
- Strong experience with SharePoint Online, SharePoint Server (2013/2016/2019), and Microsoft 365
- A proven track record of successful SharePoint migrations
- Knowledge of metadata management, taxonomy, and tagging best practices
- Experience using SharePoint migration tools (e.g., ShareGate, Metalogix, AvePoint)
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project delivery skills
- A genuine passion for working in or supporting the nonprofit sector
Desirable:
- Microsoft365 certifications
