BB&R Brands distributes a range a super-premium spirits and liqueurs in the UK including No.3 London Dry Gin, The Kings Ginger, Hine Cognac and Fielden English Whiskey and the Berry Bros. & Rudd Spirits portfolio. Our customer base ranges from Multiple Grocers, Ecommerce specialists, Independent retailers and Wine merchants to National On-trade Groups, regional MPOs and independent bars, restaurants and hotels.
The Business Development Role will be based at home, but have a requirement to travel to Head Office, Customers and Suppliers as required by the nature and scope of the role.
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Business Development Executive / Manager London will be responsible for building and managing a customer base of 150+ accounts across London, with a focus on the most premium and influential on trade bars, restaurants and hotels.
About you
Experience of working within the top end of the UK bar scene is key, with a strong established reputation ideally for a current drinks’ distributors or wholesaler. Cocktail and premium spirits knowledge is preferred, but the willingness learn and to go the extra mile to deliver the UK Strategy is essential. You will be expected to arrange and negotiate, bar and menu takeovers, permanent and seasonal menu listings, and brand trainings on our hero brands. You will need to have the ability to work alone but call on resources of the business when needed. Working to sales and activity targets with strong commercial understanding and awareness.
The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial and proactive, adept at developing strong relationships and delivering mutually beneficial plans with your customers. You’ll also enjoy working collaboratively within a close-knit team to complete brand-driven projects and provide excellent customer service. It would be preferable if the candidate had strengths in multi-tasking, being highly organized and developing clear plans for each account will be the key driver of your success along with your creativity, communication skills and ability to take ownership and accountability of your own results.

What you will do
- Proactive account management for a prioritised set of 150+ customers across the on-trade sector across London.
- Develop relationships and a deep understanding of your account base and region.
- Win and maintain listings for our brands to achieve distribution KPI’s.
- Secure promotional activity KPI’s that drives rate of sale and brand visibility.
- Administration and day-to-day management of accounts – account documentation, forecasting, reporting, GP management, A&P management with marketing team.
- Complete daily updates on sales management software to capture call and sales activity.
- Grow independent off-trade sales and distribution points of prestige and limited-edition whiskies.
- Conduct brand and category trainings for staff in key accounts.
- Manage regional wholesalers to establish new listings for Berry Bros. & Rudd Brands with their customers.
- Work with Brand Managers, Brand Ambassadors to deliver best in class promotions to our customers and their staff and consumers.
- Share customer, competitor, and market intelligence for your region with brands team, present regional updates at team sales meetings.
- Attend customer, trade and consumer shows and events as required representing Berry Bros. & Rudd Brands.
- Ensure that all working practices comply with Health and Safety legislation
Key Accountabilities
- Day to day management of customers including a minimum of 30 Productive sales calls per week.
- Meet or exceed pre-agreed commercial targets for your region.
- Maintain up-to-date account information on BOWIMI sales software.
- Develop new business compatible with the demands of the portfolio.
- Develop a detailed working knowledge of the whole portfolio and to develop a reputation for expertise in spirits.

- Provide feedback from key customers to help enhance the range and service provided by Berry Bros. & Rudd.
