Associate Civil / Infrastructure Engineer

We are working with a respected, privately-owned UK consultancy that focuses on civil and infrastructure design across a variety of sectors. They are seeking an Associate Civil / Infrastructure Engineer to join their London team, helping to deliver projects ranging from large-scale residential and mixed-use developments to site-specific infrastructure and access schemes, with both public and private sector clients.

About the Role
As an Associate Engineer, you will be a key contributor to project delivery and team leadership. You will work across highways, drainage, and site infrastructure elements, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and driving technical excellence. This role provides an excellent opportunity to help shape the design output, mentor junior staff, and lead on significant civil infrastructure components.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the technical delivery of infrastructure designs including roads, drainage systems, site access and associated civil works.

  • Manage project tasks and support project leads, ensuring deliverables meet client expectations in terms of quality, cost and programme.

  • Collaborate with architects, clients, local authorities and other stakeholders, representing the consultancy in a professional manner.

  • Develop and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and reports in line with UK design standards.

  • Use design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage (or InfoDrainage) to produce detailed design documents and models.

  • Undertake site visits and inspections, monitor progress and ensure compliance with design and specification.

  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to less experienced team members.

  • Support business development initiatives, including contributing to proposals and client presentations.



Qualifications & Experience


  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Near or fully Chartered status (ICE, CIHT or equivalent) desirable.

  • Demonstrable experience in delivering highways, drainage and infrastructure projects within a consultancy environment.

  • Strong understanding of UK design standards, approval processes and technical delivery frameworks.

  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroDrainage (InfoDrainage).

  • Excellent communication, organisation and report-writing skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within a team.

  • A clean UK driving licence is desirable.
