As a BMS Improver, you will join a company that is known for its commitment to sustainability, technological advancements, and excellent client solutions. They are currently experiencing significant expansion and are looking for motivated individuals to help drive their business forward by supporting organisations to optimise their building efficiency.

This role provides extensive training, both internally and through external courses, to give you the skills needed to grow your career in BMS. With hands-on mentorship and continuous development, you will have the opportunity to progress into a fully qualified BMS Engineer within the company’s Managed Services team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the BMS team to support building energy management and automation.
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and optimization of BMS systems in commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot system issues to ensure efficient building operations.

  • Receive training and certifications in key BMS platforms and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and facilities management, to deliver high-quality solutions.

The Person:

  • Technical Background: A strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering will be highly advantageous. If you have practical experience working with control systems or energy management, you’ll be a great fit for the role.
  • Previous BMS Experience: Although direct BMS experience isn’t essential, any prior exposure to Building Management Systems, HVAC, or Facilities Management will be beneficial.
  • IT Skills: A good understanding of IT and networking systems is desirable. BMS often integrates with IT infrastructure, so comfort with software interfaces and system configuration will support your development.
  • Qualifications: Electrical or mechanical qualifications are highly desirable (such as City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent). Any certifications related to HVAC, automation, or control systems will also be advantageous.

What’s in it for You:

Ideal Candidate Background:

This role would be perfect for someone coming from an BMS Install, HVAC, facilities management, or energy efficiency background, who wants to specialise in BMS. You’ll need a keen interest in learning new technologies, and a passion for sustainability and energy efficiency.

If you’re a proactive and ambitious individual with some practical experience in electrical or mechanical systems, and you want to enhance your skills in the BMS field, this is the ideal opportunity for you.
