Contract Senior Civil Engineer - Central London
Outside IR35 | 35-40/hour | Design-Led Projects | Hybrid Working
I'm supporting an award-winning, design-led civil and structural engineering consultancy in their search for an experienced Contract Senior Civil Engineer to join their central London team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a capable, hands-on engineer to support a busy pipeline of high-quality development projects on a flexible, outside IR35 basis. The consultancy is known for its creative, collaborative approach and strong partnerships with leading architects and developers.
The Role:
You'll work as part of a skilled civils team on a mix of urban development and refurbishment schemes, supporting both design and delivery. The role offers autonomy, variety, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on high-profile projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design of drainage systems including SuDS
- Site-wide drainage and retrofit infrastructure
- Drainage Statements and Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs)
- Design of private roads to adoptable standards
- Liaison with local authorities for S38, S278 approvals
- Vehicle tracking and swept path analysis
- Technical modelling using Civil 3D, MicroDrainage (or InfoDrainage)
What You'll Need:
- Minimum 5 years' UK experience in civil engineering consultancy
- Strong proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and MicroDrainage (or equivalent)
- Experience working on residential/commercial development-led infrastructure
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- A proactive, delivery-focused mindset
Contract Details:
- Outside IR35
- 35-40/hour (DOE)
- Hybrid working (central London office as needed)
- Initial 3-6 month contract with strong extension potential
- Immediate start available
