My client, a large, highly-respected, world class Multidisciplinary Consultancy is searching for a Senior Flood Modeller to join their expert team of engineering and design experts, in the lively capital city of London.

Essential Criteria:

  • Extensive experience in delivering flood risk projects, focussing on integrated catchment modelling
  • Demonstrable experience of utilising 1D-2D modelling on InfoWorks ICM
  • Undertaking flood risk analysis for strategy, planning, development, and design
  • Good working knowledge of ArcGIS, MapInfo, or QGIS
  • Experience of leading high-performing technical teams, mentoring colleagues
  • Confidence in making high-level decisions, utilising the available information to successfully deliver projects to the highest of standards

It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Senior Flood Modeller to have the following:

  • Experience of stakeholder liaison and management
  • Knowledge of other software packages, including Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, etc.
  • Some experience of FEH Hydrological Assessment

As a Senior Flood Modeller, you will be joining a growing team of dedicated engineering specialists, working on a number of varied, high-profile projects across a varied landscape. As you progress through your career, you will take on a range of different responsibilities, including the following:

  • Leading technical projects involving ICM hydraulic modelling, data analysis, GIS, and technical reporting, also taking on quality assurance
  • Supervising and line managing a team of junior colleagues
  • Supporting senior colleagues, taking on financial responsibilities, throughout the progression of a range of projects
  • Work with part of a wider team and other external stakeholders, providing outstanding customer service
  • Contributing to business development activities, including tendering for projects, developing and agreeing services, setting costs and resources, and engaging with stakeholders and clients
  • Proactively working to develop the Flood Risk Team through involvement with the technical network
