Sub Agent - Civil Engineering (Water Sector) | North East London | £50,000 + Package 

Start Date: June / July

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent (45 hrs/week - Mon to Fri, 7:30am-5:30pm)

Red Sky Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor. With over 40 years' experience and a strong reputation for delivering high-profile projects across the water, transport, energy, and built environment sectors, this Tier 1 contractor offers long-term job security, career development, and a people-first culture.

We are seeking a Sub Agent to join the team working on major water infrastructure schemes across North East London. This role would suit an experienced Site Engineer ready to take the next step or an established Sub Agent with a passion for operational excellence and team leadership.

 

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Managing small civil engineering sites or supporting a Site Agent/Project Manager on larger projects

     

  • Ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, to budget and to the highest standards

     

  • Producing and managing project programmes, interpreting drawings/specs

     

  • Leading site meetings and reporting progress to clients and stakeholders

     

  • Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality procedures

     

  • Driving cost efficiency and maintaining accurate site diaries and cost plans

     

  • Leading, mentoring and coordinating site teams and subcontractors

     

 

What You'll Need:

Essential:

  • Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

     

  • CSCS card, SMSTS, NEBOSH or IOSH

     

  • Full UK driving licence

     

  • 5+ years of experience in civil engineering (preferably water sector)

     

  • Working knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM, cost control, design and risk management

     

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

     

Desirable:

  • Temporary Works Co-ordinator

     

  • Confined space training / Service avoidance training

     

  • Working towards CEng or IEng status

     

  • Previous experience with a direct delivery contractor (e.g. Murphy, Clancy, Ward & Burke, O'Connor Utilities)
