We are seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to join a busy and innovative Traffic and Parking team. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of impactful projects that improve traffic flow, enhance road safety, and support active travel in a fast-paced urban environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:

Lead the design, development, and delivery of traffic and highway schemes.

Manage small to medium-sized projects from concept through to implementation and post-delivery review.

Contribute to public consultations, stakeholder engagement, and committee reports.

Prepare contract documentation, monitor budgets, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

Promote innovation and sustainability across all stages of project delivery.

Collaborate with partners, contractors, and community groups to deliver high-quality outcomes.
We’re looking for someone who has:

A degree in Engineering/Transportation or equivalent, or professional membership (Incorporated or Chartered status preferred).

At least 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience, or a strong track record in traffic and highway engineering.

Experience working with the public, stakeholders, and elected representatives.

Strong technical knowledge of traffic and transport design standards, legislation, and environmental considerations.

Excellent communication and report writing skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.

Proficiency in relevant IT tools including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
