Venn Group is working with an executive non-departmental public body to recruit a proactive Commercial Manager to lead procurement, contracting, and compliance across both UK and international operations. This key role supports cross-functional teams and strategic delivery, ideal for a commercially experienced professional passionate about international development.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Advise on and support the drafting, negotiation, and management of contracts, sub-contracts, grants, and sub-grants across UK and international programmes
  • Lead on supplier engagement, procurement processes, and managing critical commercial frameworks/contracts, ensuring compliance with procurement policies
  • Monitor donor and legal requirements, conduct due diligence, manage donor audits, and regularly update procurement and contract templates in line with best practice
  • Develop and deliver orientation, onboarding, and ongoing training for staff, partners, and suppliers on procurement, contracting, and donor compliancePrepare and review upstream contracts with funders, coordinate responses to donor information requests, and support audit and compliance checks
  • Maintain oversight of active partners and suppliers, validate contract information, and ensure effective vetting and onboarding processes are in place
  • Provide tools, advice, and operational support to programme teams to strengthen efficiency and ensure commercial enablers are in place for successful delivery
  • Participate in cross-organisational consultations and initiatives, contribute to strategic planning, and promote continuous improvement across operations

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Proven experience in commercial, grant, or contract management with strong understanding of legal principles and regulatory requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to build effective working relationships across UK and international teams
  • Demonstrated ability to improve systems and processes for procurement, compliance, and contract administration
