TML Recruitment are delighted to be partnered with one of our longest standing clients, a UK wide, multi-disciplinary property practice with over £70m in turnover and 20+ offices. We are assisting them in their search for a Commercial Valuation Partner to aid the growth of their London based commercial valuation department.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN THIS ROLE?

This role is essentially the number 2 of the commercial valuation department reporting into the overall head of commercial valuation. You will be responsible for a variety of commercial valuations across London and Greater London. You will cover a variety of asset classes, but typically offices, retail and industrial buildings/units working with banks, private and corporate clients, and professional contacts. Your main mandate will be to aid the growth of the business unit through fee earning, business development but team leading and and mentoring which this role really offers. The team has 8 fee earners in it and you will be responsible for developing them through their career, coaching and advising them when needed. This role will suit someone who genuinely wants to take on more responsibility for helping nurture staff and being responsible for their progression

  • Regularly manage junior within the team and support the team leader to ensure optimal profitability and good/poor performance is addressed early.
  • Be positive, motivate team members, adhere to the highest standards of quality and compliance, and inspire an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Set the example and enforce best practice relating to audit and compliance responsibilities.
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities. Exploit cross-sell opportunities within the service line and beyond and empower everyone in your team to do the same. Participate fully in the company’s client development activity. Consistently achieve fee income of 3x cost from existing instructions. Target additional income from new business instruction

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESFUL?

  • Understanding of commercial property Valuation, ideally for loan security and balance sheet purposes.
  • Track record and knowledge of undertaking Commercial Property Valuations and Valuation Appraisals, including the use of KEL and Argus (or similar) valuation software
  • Mentoring capability and leadership qualities
  • A track record of developing new business
  • MRICS & RRV
