Your new companyOur client are a large, multi-site university with three campuses in London. They are hiring a Head of Technical Compliance (facilities & estates) to join their Estates, Environment and Facilities Directorate.Your new roleAs Head of Technical Compliance, you will take responsibility for all compliance assurance and risk management to their estate. The role is a crucial post in ensuring that the estates and facilities activity across the multi-campus estate is compliant with legal and statutory requirements for all operational and project service provisions. It requires highly developed and emotionally astute leadership and influencing skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate and involve individual and teams to achieve departmental targets for compliance. This will be achieved by collating information from audits, surveys and reports of plant and building services, analysing data, reports and information from the CAFM system, reviewing permits to work and method statements from contractors, defining and designing systems to ensure the effective control of compliance-related data. Key duties will include:
- To create a positive, proactive, collaborative and supportive Compliance culture within the directorate.
- To interrogate the findings of the 2024 Compliance Audit and create a comprehensive, auditable plan to resolve all issues raised, and discovered since.
- To coordinate the monitoring and timely completion of a quarterly estates compliance report to demonstrate that robust systems are in place to ensure that the premises and associated services are safe and to provide a consistent basis to measure compliance against legislation and guidance.
- Establish standards for best practice in contractor management and CDM15 compliance.
- Compliance: Ensure contract delivery is in line with relevant legislation, ACOPs, HSG, HTM, HBN, and SFG20.
- Inspection and Audit Preparation: Prepare for and host inspections as required.
- Compliance Management: Support the Heads of Maintenance to update and review the Asbestos, Hazard, Water Hygiene, Fgas registers and manage the completion of works arising from Surveys and Risk Assessments.
- Technical Knowledge: Investigate technical issues alongside engineer when systems and processes fail to deliver,
What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this role you will require relevant experience in managing compliance across technical assets with regard to estates and facilities. You will also require:
- Relevant engineering / building services / technical qualifications
- IOSH / NEBOSH etc.
- Strong technical knowledge regarding estate and facilities assets
- Significant compliance management experience
What you'll get in returnWhen successful in securing this role you will receive a permanent contract with a large, multi-site university in London. You will also receive:
- £62,500 - £65,000 starting salary
