ELECTRICAL BUILDING SERVICES ENGINEER

Qualifications and Experience

  • British citizen or otherwise have the right to work in the UK
  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience: minimum 2 years' experience up to senior level working as an Electrical (Building Services) Design Engineer (preferably in the UK)
  • Strong design skills
  • Preferential but not essential experience in:
  • Wiring regulations (BS 7671)
  • Relevant British Standards
  • Education, leisure, residential and mixed-use sectors
  • BREEAM and its implications for M&E design
  • Revit MEP


Job Description
The engineer will work on projects predominantly in the South-East, from concept/feasibility stage through design, construction, commissioning, and handover, under the guidance of a director.
Skills to be developed include (but are not limited to):

  • Lighting and cable calculations
  • Part L compliance checking
  • Development of detailed designs including equipment selection and specification
  • Design and specification of renewable technologies
  • Liaison with utility companies for new and diversion of existing services
  • Coordination with architects, clients, structural engineers, and contractors
  • Project management
  • Site inspections


Package

  • Salary negotiable based on experience
  • Private medical cover for the individual and immediate family
  • Company pension scheme (5% employee / 3% employer)

  • 25 days annual leave (increasing to 30 days after 5 years' service)
  • Hybrid working - up to 2 days WFH per week (to be agreed with line manager)
  • Working hours: 08:30 to 17:00 with 1-hour lunch break
  • Mobile phone allowance
