This is an incredible opportunity to join my client, a newly-established, eco-conscious Consultancy, developing innovative approaches to revolutionise the Flood Risk and Mitigation landscape, utilising industry-leading AI technology. They are seeking a driven, experienced Principal Flood Risk Consultant to head-up a new team in a new environment. The successful candidate should expect to be based out of the Head Office, located in the vibrant Capital City of London.

Responsibilities for the role of Principal Flood Risk Consultant include:

  • Review, amend, approve, and submit Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs)
  • Confidently operate the technology and software to a high level, ensuring efficiency of service
  • Liaise and manage relations with clients and other stakeholders from across the public and private sectors
  • Provide advice regarding the development of products and services, with a view to leading the flood risk and mitigation industry

Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Flood Risk Consultant include:

  • Hold a Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, or a similar, relevant discipline
  • Chartered Status with CIWEM, CEng (MICE), or similar Professional Body
  • Extensive experience within the Flood Risk sector (particularly within a UK consultancy setting or Local Authority)
  • Demonstrable experience of producing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), Drainage Strategies, and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
  • Good working knowledge of the relevant software packages, including Flood Modeller, InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage, etc.
  • Good understanding of the UK Planning Applications process, as well as the relevant Section Agreements (namely, S106)
  • Experience of managing client and stakeholder relations
  • A willingness to work flexibly across a range of projects, remaining adaptable in your approach
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Flood Risk Consultant include:

  • A keen interest in, and knowledge of, AI software
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
