A well-established secondary SEN school in Harrow is looking for a reliable and consistent Specialist Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 8 male student with behavioural needs.
The school is highly regarded for its supportive, committed staff team and structured approach to student care. This role is ideal for someone calm, patient, and able to provide strategies to help the student manage and succeed in school life.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver consistent 1:1 support for a Year 8 student with behavioural challenges
Use structured strategies to help the student manage emotions and engagement in school
Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SEN professionals to implement tailored support plans
Encourage routines, focus, and participation in lessons
Contribute to a calm, safe, and supportive school environment
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural or social-emotional needs
Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent under pressure
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a dedicated team
Background in education, youth work, or social care is highly desirable
Role Details
Hours: Full-time, 8:15am - 3:45pm, Term Time Only
Start: After October Half Term
Pay: 95-105 per day (depending on experience)
