Remedy Education are looking for an experienced Outreach Tutor to support a 9-year-old student at their home in Mile End. The student is in Year 5 and has a diagnosis of ADHD and ASD. The family are seeking a calm, consistent tutor who can deliver the primary curriculum at a simple and accessible level.

This role starts at the beginning of September and will run until at least October, with the possibility of being extended until December.

About the Role
  • 1:1 tuition with a Year 5 student in their home

  • Teach across the primary curriculum (English, Maths and basic foundation subjects)

  • Monday to Friday - 2 hours per day

  • Lessons need to be engaging, structured, and adapted to the student's needs

  • The student's father will be present during all sessions

The Student
  • Age 9, Year 5

  • Needs support with focus and engagement

  • Can display challenging behaviour, sometimes physical or verbally abusive, so confidence in behaviour management is essential

  • Benefits from patience, structure, and a clear routine

  • A tutor or teacher with experience working with SEMH, ADHD and ASD

  • Ability to adapt lessons to suit ability and engagement levels

  • Calm, resilient and consistent in approach

  • Someone who can build a positive relationship with both the student and parent
