Job Description:
NextGen Teachers are recruiting for a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school near Wembley supporting pupils in KS1 & KS2 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a temporary role with the potential to become permanent, ideal for someone with a strong background in SEN or SEMH support and a passion for inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH, autism, and developmental delays
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and communication development
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families
- Promote independence, resilience, and positive relationships in the classroom
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Previous experience in a Special Needs (SEN) or SEMH school setting
- Confident supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Skilled in de-escalation, redirection, and behaviour management techniques
- Holds a relevant qualification (not essential)
- Trained in safeguarding, mental health, and behaviour that challenges
- Available for immediate start
