SEND Teaching Assistant

SANZA Teaching Agency is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school environment that puts children's wellbeing and development at the heart of everything they do.

The role is set to begin in September 2025, though the school is open to an earlier start date for the right candidate. You will be supporting children with special educational needs across a range of year groups, helping them to access learning and make meaningful progress.

Role Highlights:

  • Full-time SEND TA role in a vibrant Islington school
  • Providing targeted support to pupils with a variety of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties
  • Working both 1:1 and in small group interventions
  • Collaborating with class teachers, the SENCO, and external specialists
  • Delivering tailored support aligned with EHCPs
  • Long-term contract with opportunity to go permanent
  • Daily rate: £90-£110 (PAYE)

What We're Looking For:

  • Essential: Prior experience supporting children with special educational needs in an educational or learning-focused setting
  • Empathetic, proactive, and confident in adapting to different needs and behaviours
  • Skilled in building rapport with pupils and maintaining a calm, positive presence
  • Strong understanding of SEND best practice and inclusive education
  • Desirable: Relevant SEND or education-related qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, CACHE, Makaton, PECS)
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
