SANZA Teaching Agency are currently supporting a creative, community, 2-form entry primary school in Havering. They are seeking an active, adaptable teaching assistant to work with specila needs students within early years to join their team from September.

The ideal candidate should have experience working in a primary school, specifically in the Early Years Foundation Stage, and will either be experienced, or have a willingness to support children with special educational needs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting the class teacher in preparing and delivering lessons in the EYFS
  • Supporting children with their learning and development
  • Providing feedback to the class teacher on children's progress
  • Preparing learning resources and materials
  • Helping with the supervision of children during break times
  • Maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a primary school, preferably in the EYFS
  • A good understanding of the EYFS curriculum
  • Experience supporting children with SEN
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Understanding of pre-verbal communication methods and strategies
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and the ability to adapt them to meet individual needs
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
