A welcoming primary school in Harrow is partnering with SANZA Teaching Agency to recruit a caring and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant. Starting in September 2025, this full-time role will involve providing targeted support to Key Stage 2 pupils with a range of additional learning needs. For the right candidate, there may be the opportunity to transition into a permanent position.

About the Role:As an SEN Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the academic and personal development of children with special educational needs in a mainstream classroom. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with needs such as autism, ADHD, and speech and language challenges

  • Assisting with the delivery of structured interventions and learning activities

  • Working in partnership with teaching staff, the SENCO, and external professionals to follow and implement individual education plans

  • Encouraging pupil engagement, independence, and social development

  • Helping to maintain a calm, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly in a Key Stage 2 setting

  • Show patience, understanding, and strong behaviour management skills

  • Communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues, and families

  • Demonstrate initiative, empathy, and a positive attitude
