Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – London 

As demand for their expertise continues to grow, this well-established MEP consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their experienced team in London. 

The successful candidate will bring solid experience in mechanical building services design and a strong working knowledge of building installations. Comfortable managing their own projects, they will be expected to undertake detailed design work to high standards and deliver exceptional client service, while collaborating closely with internal and external project teams.

Project Portfolio
The team’s current projects span a diverse range of sectors, including science and research, advanced manufacturing, motorsport, education, defence, commercial, and residential developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading mechanical building services design as part of a project team

  • Supervising and guiding junior engineers and apprentices

  • Advising clients on energy efficiency and sustainability

  • Designing using CAD, Revit, Hevacomp, IES, and other mechanical engineering software

  • Producing high-quality reports, specifications, and drawings for all RIBA stages

  • Coordinating with structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors

  • Participating in project and technical meetings

  • Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and legislative requirements

 

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in mechanical services design, from a consultancy or contractor background

  • Degree, HNC or HND in a relevant discipline

  • Achieved or actively working toward IEng or CEng status

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

  • High attention to detail and a commitment to outstanding client service

  • Interest in mentoring and developing junior staff
