Electronics Design Engineer Up to £52,000 Base Benefits

Join a leading technology solutions provider as an experienced Electronics Design Engineer, applying your expertise in electronics design (not PCB layout) to deliver innovative, high-performance products for a range of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team (Mechanical, Electronic, PCB, and Software Engineers) and contribute to every stage of the product lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a broad and versatile background, with applications across areas like Automotive, Renewable Energy, Consumer Goods, Aerospace, Medical, R&D.

This role is remote, with only occasional travel to the South East office when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and support electronics hardware solutions from concept through to production.
  • Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and to specification.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, reports, and design justifications.
  • Apply structured design approaches, including validation, FMEA, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, approvals, and validation requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Electronics Design Engineer with a proven track record of designing products for manufacture.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong background in mixed analogue and digital design, including microcontrollers.
  • Hands-on experience with schematic capture (Altium).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with exposure to a wide range of electronic technologies.
  • Clear, concise technical writing and documentation.
  • Eligible for SC Clearance

Essential Skills

  • Electronics hardware design (concept to production).
  • Analogue and digital design with microcontrollers.
  • Schematic capture (Altium).
  • FMEA, validation, and structured design methodologies.
  • Strong technical documentation and reporting.

Desirable Skills

  • Switched-mode power supply design.
  • Microprocessors (-bit).
  • EMC design best practice.
  • Embedded programming knowledge/awareness.
  • Version control systems.
  • Communications protocols (CAN, Ethernet, RS485, USB, diagnostics).
