Our client, a leading consultancy in the high transport performance (HTP) sector, is currently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager specialising in Engineering/Construction Bids. This is a permanent position presenting an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing bid submissions within the construction and engineering sectors while contributing to the ongoing growth of the business.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Bid Management: Take responsibility for managing the entire tender process, including reviewing, preparing, and submitting tender documents. Work closely with internal teams to ensure all submissions are high-quality and aligned with the company's goals.
  • Collaboration & Content Development: Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to understand technical requirements and ensure that bid submissions reflect the company's expertise. Produce content for bids, including responses to Standard Questionnaire (SQ) and other technical documents.
  • Client Liaison: Work with clients, both public and private, to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions that meet tender specifications.
  • Engineering Knowledge: Apply experience in engineering construction to ensure that bids are technically accurate and reflect the company's capabilities in delivering complex engineering projects.
  • Team Management: Manage and support the team involved in the bid process, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained.
  • Market Insights: Maintain a strong understanding of the market, particularly within local government and transportation sectors, to identify trends and tailor proposals accordingly.


Essential Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience in bid management, ideally within the engineering, construction, or professional services sectors. Experience working with engineering construction teams is essential.
  • Knowledge of Local Government: Understanding the local government framework and how it impacts tender submissions is a must.
  • Bid Writing Skills: Strong writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and compelling content for bids and tenders.
  • Team Player: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment alongside a young, growing team.
  • Flexibility & Adaptability: A flexible approach, with a willingness to work in both office and home settings (3 days in the office, 2 days from home).
  • Sector Experience: Experience within the transport sector is a significant advantage.
